Japan: the Holy Mount Fujiyama

Mount Fuji is Japan’s No. 1 tourist attraction, providing an exceptional natural landscape not seen anywhere else in the world. But Fuji is not only a landmark of the modern age, but played an important role throughout the history of Japan, both strategically and, more important, culturally.

Mount Fuji is not just an ordinary mountain, it is a volcano and it is still an active volcano located in the southern part of Honshu island, north of the Izu Peninsula and west of Tokyo, Yamashita province. Surrounded by a hilly area, stands out with hight (3776 meters), but also by its conical shape. From any angle you look, Mount Fuji is almost identical, so that when you’re at its feet you do not know on what part of it you are.

Its crater has a diameter of 600 meters and contains three focal points:  Komitake, Ko-Fuji and young Shin-Fuji. Last eruption took place in December 1707 and lasted until January 1708, ash and smoke reaching Tokyo (Edo at that time). Today, Mount Fuji is regarded by geologists as a sleeping volcano.

The official visit to the mountain is short - only two months, from July to August. This season, when in Tokyo and major cities can be very high temperatures, up to 40 degrees, on top of Mount Fuji is cool or cold, sometimes below zero. Visits and climbing the mountain out of season are officially illegal, and extremely dangerous, if tourists have no experience in climbing and alpine equipment. Mount Fuji’s weather is fickle and can provide unpleasant surprises,if not taken all precautions before making the trip.

Brussels – The core of the New Europe

Brussels is the bilingual capital of Belgium. This means that both Dutch and French are official languages of the city. Street plates and road signs are always printed in these two languages. But the Belgian capital is a cosmopolitan city where many cultures live alongside one another and where many different languages can be heard on the streets. International charm and city life are directly related to the role that the city occupies in the Europe of today.

The variety and the contrast can be seen in many architectural styles found in Brussels, capital of the Duchy of Brabant former Middle Ages. Gothic Cathedrals and churches are found near and sometimes even in an obvious contrast to some buildings with classical facades of the most graceful way - eg buildings around the Royal Square (Place Royale - Koningsplein) or houses and other buildings in Art Nouveau or Art deco.

Beyond downtown Brussels there are districts such as Anderlecht and Molenbeek, EU Quarter and Etterbeek, Ixelles, St Josse, Schaerbeek and Saint Gilles. All these charities have characteristics that distinguishes a city like Brussels. Some of them are residential areas with parks and streets full of shops and restaurants while others are industrial areas on the edge of channels.

Salzburg – Mozart’s home

Salzburg is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful cities of Europe both in terms of architecture and landscapes that can be seen here. Salzburg has an incomparable charm, which bends its shadow over it’s most beloved son, Mozart, a city favored by the divinity. Whatever adjectives were used, Salzburg is and will remain one of the most charming towns that can be found in a European journey, especially because the Altstadt - left bank of the Salzach river - has several Baroque masterpieces on square meter then any other city on Earth.

Salzburg is a city that can be visited all year round although November for instance might be a bit monotonous. Many people prefer during Christmas season when snow, carols and Christmas markets make this city irresistible. Salzburg is known for its rain, which can occur suddenly at any time of year so tourists who come here need to bring with them an umbrella. Luckily Salzburg has enough attractions and objectives that can be visited when it rains.

Salzburg is the fourth largest city in Austria and around Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, “The Sound of Music”, Salzburg Festival or a popular holiday destination for tourists from around the world, Salzburg has something else! It is the city of the delicious Mozart chocolate.

Prague – city of a hundred towers

Prague is an unusually beautiful city, like a natural amphitheater through which the river Vltava cuts its way freely through thousands of years of effort and architectural achievements which have as goal something much greater than the mere satisfaction of human needs. The city is through its location in the spotlight, in the heart of Europe, and at the confluence of trade routes, political interests and cultural influences. This settlement did not bring a quiet history for the city of Prague on the contrary, guaranteed a city full of life and full of events.

You will understand that, through a simple stroll down the old streets paved with dirt, the old city, noting the special architecture of buildings, churches and the beautiful Castle. You can then eat at relatively good prices or halt in a pub to enjoy one of the local beers, both known worldwide. Music enthusiasts can enjoy a concert of classical music, and for the young there are plenitude of clubs and discos. After you have wandered and enjoyed all the attractions that Prague has, you can withdraw in a park such as Stromovka Park or you could travel up Petrin hill, where the view is amazing. Perhaps no other city in Europe has such a view, so charming.

Milan

Milan is one of the most important and stylish cities in Italy, rich in history. In Milan there are many buildings with special character in the styles of the most different from neo-classical palaces (Palazzo), to modern buildings and skyscrapers.

Cathedral of Santa Maria Nascente, Milan Cathedral briefly, is located in Piazza del Duomo and is the third largest church of Christianity (exceeded only by St. Peter in Rome and the Cathedral of Seville). Milan Cathedral is without doubt a joy to the eyes of every tourist.

Perhaps the most important work in the world, La Scala in Piazza della Scala, has a newly renovated red velvet auditorium. Among the spectators at these special performances of Italian operas and ballets are often found high-ranking dignitaries from around the world.

Perhaps tourist attraction that attracts most tourists in Milan is the masterpiece of Leonardo da Vinci - Last Supper. Between 1495 and 1497, Leonardo painted this masterpiece of confusion and betrayal on the wall of the dining room at the time when Santa Maria delle Grazie was a Dominican monastery. Leonardo’s fresco has been called ”the saddest work of art in the world”.

There are several famous football stadiums in the world when it comes to Italy and none compare to the Stadio San Siro in Milan. It is the biggest stadium in Italy, with a capacity of more than 80,000 seats, and distinct design that makes it very easy to recognize.

Berlin

Berlin is a city with many tourist attractions which are visited daily by many locals and tourists. Berlin is not only a center where all tourist attractions are concentrated, in Berlin they are spread throughout the city. A true historical center of Berlin may be in the east side of the city.

Brandenburger Tor, the Brandenburg Gate, is a monumental gate built in the 18th century as a symbol of peace. During the Cold War, when the gate is right on the border between East and West, became a symbol of a divided city. Since the fall of the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate became a symbol of Berlin, reunified.

Berlin Wall, which divided the city into two parts, east and west, was the symbol of the Cold War. Built by the Government of the German Democratic Republic to prevent East Germans to flee to West Germany, most of it was demolished when the border between East and West was opened in 1989.
